This book, which originated from a LinkedIn post, supports the London-based organization Suited & Booted and their “store” where clothes aren’t sold—they’re given away.
It looks like a luxury boutique in central London stocked with big-name brands and high-end clothing, but those clothes can’t be bought. They can only be received as gifts, along with advice on how to prepare for job interviews.
This is the reality of Suited & Booted, a small charity that helps over 1,200 vulnerable men re-enter the world of work every year. Today, its story is shared in the photo book “One suit at a time by Enzo Dal Verme.
The images in the book, captured by the Italian photographer and journalist, accompany the testimonies of the participants in this innovative and highly socially beneficial project.
The initial idea was to publish an article, but “when I realized that the subject and the stories I’d gathered deserved much more than just an article, I discussed it with my friend, art director Pierpaolo Pitacco, and together we decided to bring this book to life.”
Page after page, the book tells the story of a truly unique initiative. A group of stylists helps the men who come to Suited & Booted not only by providing them with new suits, but also with tailored encouragement that helps them regain their self-confidence. And the results speak for themselves.
